I need to take a Timeout... or at least slow down.

Remember to vote in the ANK blog poll to the right!  Poll ends in 3 days!

Hello all!  I'm sorry that I have not been posting very much lately.  I have been so busy with school and enjoying my last month of a college social life that I have not had much time to cook unique recipes, yet alone blog about them!  So, I'm announcing that I am going to cut my blogging down to as much as I can fit in, which will hopefully be about one post a week.  In the meantime, I would love to hear from readers about suggestions of books to read!  I just finished Unprocessed by Chef AJ, which was inspiring and has a ton of recipes I can't wait to try.  If you would also like to read Unprocessed, you can click on the link found in my Amazon sidebar in the right column of my blog (a very small amount goes to support ANK this way).  So now I am in search of another good book about plant-based nutrition.

Do you have any suggestions for me on what I should read next?
(I have already ready Eat to Live and Engine 2 Diet)

    1. I've had Super Immunity on my ipod touch kindle, and haven't gotten around to reading it, so that will probably be next on my list. (I've had a cold for a week, so lord knows I'll need some of the info in it!) I'll have to look into The Pleasure Trap as well. I have listen to a few lectures from Lisle, so I look forward to hearing his concepts in more detail. Thanks Wendy!

  2. Eating and Fasting For Health, Dr. Furhman

The Vegan Diet as Chronic Disease Prevention, Kerrie K. Saunders

Thrive by Brendan Frazier was kind of simple if you prefer more in depth info but I have gleaned some great stuff from it and the Kerrie S. book also.

And a fun book I have loved and reread for ten years is "How I Conquered Cancer Naturally" by Eydie Mae Hunsberger with Chris Loeffler. You will be amazed by what this couple did.

    2. Brendan Brazier, oops. So this has way more stuff than I thought! Really interesting recipes too, and I don't really like recipes! It is in that "diet book" format with the "Day 1" etc. menu thing that I find irritating but there is really interesting stuff especially for athlete types (not there yet).

  3. A great bunch of titles! I also recommend "The Beauty Detox Solution" by Kimberly Snyder. (She's been taping several Dr.Oz segments recently) Her claim to fame is her Glowing Green Smoothie (GGS) and her Beauty Food Pairings. A super clean diet, and some excellent recipes. Snyder consults with some celebs, including Drew Barrymore and Jennifer Aniston, and has a very good reference/footnotes section, including, naturally, Dr.Fuhrman. I found her writing easy to follow, and easy to remember, as she makes effective analogies. She is one gorgeous healthy looking dish, herself! This is one book I make sure to have a spare copy, as I give them away and lend them. Cheers!

    1. I will definitely have to check out "The Beauty Detox Solution" and her Glowing Green Smoothie, since I'm trying to get into the green smoothie habit in the morning. Thanks for your suggestion Patricia!
